Alaska is BIG country, even for Texans! I’ve been blessed to have visited or flown over most parts of what I call the “north” Alaska—that which is north of the Inland Passage. Its natural beauty is breathtaking. The wildlife is amazing. Alaska’s reality can be harsh—especially for those of us “lower 48’ers” that never experience it in its winter splendor. It is the last American frontier. Visit it while it still has its frontier elements, before civilization overtakes it; you will not be sorry for having made the effort.
