Africa

Africa (Kenya, to be specific) is a magical place for me. There is such a diversity of mammals, birds, and landscapes. Of course I am somewhat familiar with much of it through books, videos and zoos, but the reality of the native habitat seems almost larger than life. The interplay of the tender and scary moments, the life struggles, the beauty, and the harsh, sometimes cruel reality of nature explode before my very eyes. And the existence of much of this is threatened by the creep of “civilization”, by greed, by fear, and yes, sometimes by hunger.
